Who Sun1400 Works With

Sun1400 works with motor sport athletes and their teams and is run by its owner, Mike Garth. Clients have been, are and can be involved in the following car racing series: F1, GP2, World Series by Renault, A1GP, F3, Formula Renault, Formula BMW, LMP, ALMS, GT, WTCC, BTCC and the following karting series: KF1, KF2, KF3, Rotax Max, Junior Rotax, Rotax 177, Mini Max, Senior TKM, Junior TKM, Cadets, Bambinos. In addition to working with athletes and teams in some of the headline series noted above, Mike also works with competitors at junior levels, including academy drivers. Although not now actively sought, Mike has worked with clients in motorcycle racing, such as in road racing and moto-cross.

Sun1400’s clients, independent of the level at which they currently perform, are forward thinking, ambitious and have a high professional attitude. They believe in the power of sport science and sport psychology but know they have limited knowledge and competence in it. They may already know a lot, but they want to know and do even more. They are looking to gain a competitive advantage and develop into faster, better, more efficient drivers and team organisations.

Previously, as an engineer, Mike from Sun1400 worked directly with the following teams in Champ Car: Tasman Motorsports, Walker Racing, McDonald's Championship Racing, Player's-Forsythe. As head of R&D at Reynard Motorsports, this also brought direct contact with and support to Ganassi Racing and Penske. Drivers Mike has been on the track engineering support staff for include Tony Kanaan, Patrick Carpentier, Alex Tagliani and at Toyota F1, Allan McNish, Mika Salo and Ryan Briscoe.
